Item Description: Believe this is the second model. This model appears to be a transitional model between first and third models, with the early wedge fastening nose cap. Serial numbers range from approximately 700 to 800 with some overlap. Patent on the barrel G.W. Burgess Oct. 18th 1856, Patent on the top tang A. Burgess Jan. 7th 1873 & Oct 19th 1875. 28" Octagon barrel, serpentine-lever action, 45/70 CR C.F. Serial# 761, only 3000 were made. Appears to be in good working condition. Overall 46" long. Ammo for this rifle in lot #3.
